Hi, I’m Mel — a Registered Nurse, mum of two little ones, and a certified Level 6 Holistic Sleep Coach, trained through the Holistic Sleep Coaching Program run by Lyndsey Hookway.
My journey into sleep support began after becoming a mum myself. Like many parents, I found those early months far more challenging than I ever expected. My baby didn’t sleep well, and that lack of rest affected everything — my confidence, my anxiety, and even how I felt about myself as a parent.
I remember trying to follow all the “rules” — wake windows, strict routines, advice from well-meaning strangers — and feeling like I was failing when nothing worked. I spent so much of my day just waiting for the next nap, afraid to go out in case it disrupted everything. It shouldn’t feel like that.
When I discovered the holistic approach to sleep, everything shifted. I learned how to adapt routines around the child, instead of trying to make the child fit the routine. I understood sleep biology, pressure, and individual needs — and that understanding changed everything for me and my family.
That experience inspired me to create The Baby Sleep Nurse — a space where families can find calm, connection, and rest without pressure or guilt. My approach is always gentle, responsive, and evidence-based. I’ll meet you exactly where you are, helping you make changes that feel right for your family.
